Introduction
Because Y-DNA is patrilineal, just like the family name. We can now take a deeper look within our family line, lets call it the "Proto-Walrecht" trail.
All males have a Y-Chromosome, which is given from father to son. In most cases the son gets an exact copy, but sometimes a mutation occurs. The descendants of such person can be traced as an unique group.
These mutations are numbered, and based on these mutation a humankind can be grouped and placed in a tree. Scientific research is making its first steps in recovering the information of our ancient ancestors. The subclade designation within a haplogroup can change based on new insights, the numbering of the mutations on the other hand is constant.
Our Ancestor into the Middle East
Most people of the world are descendants of one man giving his mutation (M168) to all his male descendants. One part (C, M130) moved to Australia, the other (F, M89), including our ancestor, moved to the Middle East.
Eurasian clan
In Arabia multiple clans sprang from this Middle Eastern group. The "Eurasian clan" (K, M9) moved to Central Asia, some of these ended up in India, others in the Americas.
Yet another group(P, M45) moved north, of which part also moved to the Americas, and from another part (R, M207) sprang two groups.
One group (R2, M124) moved to India, the other (R1, M173) moved to Europe.
In Western Europe R1b (M343) became most common, while R1a (M17) in Eastern Europe. The R1b (M343) people where responsible for the "Aurignacian culture" (Cro Magnon), and made up 70% percent of the precolonial Dutch population. In the Dutch province Frisia subclade R1b1b2a1 (M405) has a peak frequency.
Our Ancestor into Europe
Besides the "Eurasian clan" there was another group of F (M89) descendants. Our ancestor was part of that group (I, M170), which moved via the Balkan to central and northern Europe. They probably became responsible for the "Gravettian culture".
One group (I2, M438) split into a group (I2a, P37.2) that populated the Balkans, and a group (I2b, M436) moved to central germany, with I2b1 (M223) in the north.
Another group (I1, M253), which included our ancestor, moved to northwest Europe. This group became responsible for the "Nordic Bronze Age culture", which still forms the core region of this haplogroup. As Vikings these people spread along the coast of North-West Europe.
Test Results
Below you can find the test results. To get real prove test results of multiple branches of the family are needed, and at preferably more than one in each branch.

Speculations

Based on matches our ancestors belonged to a group of people having their core region in Ostrobothnia (Finland), being descendants of ancient inhabitants of Scandinavia (possibly Gotland) migrating to Finland.
This "I1-Bothnia" (Finland) type is related to "I1-Norse" (Sweden and Denmark), and to a lesser extend "I1-Ultra-Norse" (Norway).
